Blankets Distribution to the Home Less/Destitutes on Roads on 17th Nov, 10PM

Hi Friends

15days back I received a call from my Friend. After casual enquiries he said he called me to discuss an issue. He has been watching many destitute & homeless on Kukatpalli-Gachibowli-Hi-tech City Road who are wandering on the roads around 10PM in the Cold & Shivering winds. He moved and wanted to do something. He planned for an Blanket Distribution, so that they can have something to protect themselves from Cold.  Immediately he transferred Rs. 2500/- and requested ASWA to do the job. I explained him that your thought and initiation is extremely inspiring, But few of these Homeless people are selling those given Blankets or taking one even they already have. He replied that there will be no problem and Please do the job for my sake, even it is misused by few and at least remaining will be benefited. He also advised me to only treat this donation in the name of Sri Seetha Rama Chandra Swami instead of his name.

So based on his request Mr. Venkatesh & Naveen purchased 20 Blankets from Afzalgunj@125/- each. On Saturday night from 10PM – 12 am (early hours) our volunteers divided into 2 teams and distributed the Blankets to the Poor Homeless & Destitute after having thorough verification.

Team 1:-              Mr. Naveen Kumar &  Pradeep covered Kukatpalli-Hi-tech City-Madhapur-SR Nagar Route and distributed 7 Blankets

Team 2:-              Mr. Surendra Kumar &  Mani Bhusan covered Kukatpalli-Nizampet-SR Nagar Route and distributed 8 Blankets

Still 5 blankets are with us and we will distribute it when requirement found. As we all know we take utmost care to distribute even a single Blanket. We take all precautions / do all observation while donating anything even a Blanket nor a Food packet.

Our Special appreciations to Volunteers who done this Event even Cool winds surrounding them.  Kudos to their dedication.

Re: Session VI at SVM on 03-11-2012 at 1:30PM

Hello everyone,

The session at SVM went well. The class is delivered by Sreenivas Prasad Rao. THe other volunteers attended were Naresh and Madhuri.

The students interacted well this time. We have asked to write in two columns the taken things and the given things to parents, teachers, society, nature and country. This made them to realize that the given things are less than taken things. So there is need to give a lot  back to them. We also explained them the balance they need to have in situations where we are insisted on  doing  a mistake.
We explained the below In brief to the students,
  • Different Professions/ Persons from which we are getting Help and Respecting/honoring everyone
  • Importance of Giving back to the Society
  • What are the Helps we have taken from "Parents, Teachers, Friends, Relatives, Society & Nature" and whether we are giving back / Helping back in the same Ratio?
  • What is a "Student' role in the Present Society

Thanks to Suresh Adina garu for his presence and valuable feedbacks. We will try to implement these in our Next Session.

Thanks all for your support.

Madhuri
