ANADHA VIDYARTHI GRIHA

Hi Friends,

Due to some reasons the scheduled program of  Mother Theresa Home Visit has been cancelled  and  We planned immediately to Visit ANADHA VIDYARTHI GRIHA, Kothapet. We totally 5 members went to that place at 5.45pm and distributed the Old Clothes to the students. Here the student's response is very much impressed and the home is very much discipline and one more thing the home is organized by the students only.
They are very much self-discipline and the way of talking is nice. We are interacted with the students and we learn so many things. With out having anything they are getting so much of satisfaction with their self-discipline. But we have everything we can't get anything.

About AVG:

This was started in 1919 and Registered in 1952. At present this home giving support to the 75 students in that some are Orphans/semi- orphans/poor students and  they give support for Inter, Degree and PG students. Firstly they conduct one test for those who want to join in that home, if the person qualify that test, they will join the student otherwise no question about it.

After becoming a member of that Home the management will bare all the expenditure of their education, food and shelter with free of cost. They give one authentication letter  to the students and  with that letter he can join in any college and the college management also by seeing that letter, without any objection they can give seat  in their college. Here, we can guess the value of that Organization. Now so many students are studying B.Tech in private institutions with free of cost.

Daily Activities of  Students

Morning 4.00 -5.30 Regular Activities
               5.30 – 6.00 Meditation
               6.00 – 7.00 Study Hours

                6.00 – 7.00 pm  (Cleaning, Cooking, paper reading )
                 7.00 – 9.30 Study hours.

For every activity they have register and everyone should enter the details in that register. Highlight is that every activity is managed by students only, cooking, cleaning and receiving outsiders everything will be done by students only.

Finally, every member of ASWA should visit this organization to know the value of life and self–discipline.

EKAM-Organization/NGO

Courtesy: Uday Bhaskar, Lending Hands

EKAM is an Org formed by group of doctors. They are conducting an
event called Medi-Melody this weekend to generate some funds for
financial aid to few children. In order to organize this event, they
need few volunteers who can help them handle the audience and the
participants.

About :

We are basically working for the healthcare of underprevileged
children in Chennai,Virudhunagar & Madurai districts in India by
working with Orphanages,Slums, ICDS centres & Corporation, Government
& Government aided schools through Mafoi foundation by name EKAM -
ONENESS community pediatric health project.

We are also happy to inform you that Ekam community pediatric health
project, has been changed into a Public private partnership model by
joining hands with the government health department.

Ekam is planned to float off as a seperate organisation this month.

Children by definition for us is below 19yrs. We admit poor children
in private hospitals with whom we have networked and reimburse the
subsidies given by them.We also rent ventilators to Govt. hospitals so
that many lives can be saved .

We need support for the secondary & tertiary care of the children
admitted in pvt.hospitals, renting ventilators , lab support &
medicines for the children of ICH on a long term basis so that a lot
of poor children in in the Govt. hospitals can be saved.
The budget is coming to approximately Rs.4 lakhs a month in Chennai

We are planning to conduct a fund raising musical event for Ekam.

EKAM's aim is to complement the existing Government system and not
replace it. Ultimately no child should be refused of health care
because of financial constraints, no parent should feel guilty of not
able to give adequate health care & no doctor or hospital should feel
guilty of refusing patients because of financial constraints.

Looking forward to your support,

With best regards,

Dr.SaiLakshmi.
