Success stories of our NIRD Visit - Dr. Sundar Raj Perumal, Vizag

My Father is Maheshbabu ( srimantudu) of Koduru.

When my parents shifted to the farm land we bought we thought they will come back to city very soon. But my dad was on a mission. He started VARAMU social service organisation. He started motivating the people of koduru to stand on their feet instead of becoming daily labour in poultry farms. thanks to the guidance of Sreenivasaprasadrao Sarvaraju my father took twenty two villagers, many of them women to NIRD ( National Institute for Rural Development) Hyderabad. Out of the 35 different trainings for self employment NIRD offers my dad made sure they get trained in the profession of their choice. We went to many banks for loans to villagers, finally SBI gave loan to these vilagers to set up small scale industries under Mudra loan scheme.

Three small scale industries were inaugurated by my father.

1. Navanirman Brick works which manufactures eco friendly Compressed natural mud blocks

2. Aditya Energies to assemble solar lights, Invertors and water heaters

3. Harita Patra leaf plates which manufactures eco friendly leaf plates

He made sure they dont succumb to the pressures of fellow villagers who were hell bent on discouraging these people from becoming entrepreneurs.   Now the results are exceptional.

Navanirman brickworks became the first industry to make compressed natural mud blocks in Both AP and Telangana. Moreover it is run by six women who used to be daily labor previously. We started constructing our 30 bedded hospital in our farm using these bricks.

Harita patra leaf plates started getting orders for their nature friendly leaf plates.

Aditya energies got order from their own village for fixing solar street lamps.

I'm proud of my father who at the age of 70 gets up at five in the morning, conducts Pooja in village Ramalayam daily, does Goseva at goshala in our farm, does Natural farming, and whole day interacts with villagers, inspiring them solving their problems, and motivating them on a daily basis. Now a days he also takes care of the whole construction work of our hospital where he dreams of setting up a cancer research institute offering free Ayurveda treatment to cancer patients. My salutes to Naanna garu.
