Dear All,

Today Suman Siddartha and I visited venkateshwara Social Service association , here are the few observations we made.

Director Mrs. Nirmala

1. she owns own school St Anthony's which was earlier started by her husband. (Mr. Robert. X Service men).
2. very charming lady with pleasing manners.

venkateshwara social service girls hostel

1. It consists of 28 girl children ,(earlier 48 students--last year large number of people Successfully completed Xth class) starting from LKG to Xth class
Class wise strength: X---5, 9th --2, 8th -2, 7th --4  6th--2, 5th--3, 4th--1, 3rd--2, 2nd--3, 1st--2, ukg--4, lkg--1

2.Many of the children are semi-orphan or look after by guardians and very poor people.

3. These people study in ST.Anthony's school run by Madam Nirmala and her Sister.

4. These children are provided food, books, dress, other expenses and  free education in the same school run by mrs. Nirmala.

5. When i asked what help they are expecting, they told Provisions like Rice, Sugar,Tea,Dal, Kesari rava so on would be helpful.

6. Generally some donors like employees from satyam computers, few engineering students, Green park hotel management etc. used to give/supply with provisions.

7. Now most of the donors stopped supporting eg: engg students settled in different places, and other donors because of miscellaneous reasons.

8. With so much happiness mrs. Nirmala says last year many of the Xth class girl children passed with good percentage.
now these girls are supported by few donors for further college education. (earlier)

9. if interested we can provide free tuition to them between 5pm to 7pm .

Note:Students went to visit their homes because of Christmas holidays and will come on January3rd as the  schools reopen.

st anothany old age home

1. Old age is supported by Ministry of Social Welfare, New Delhi.

2.Delay in funds because of checking and inspections.

3. many of them are age old women, they are paying a one time charge of around 4000rs.

4. Guardians must be present for women to be joined( and no road side destitute will be taken . )

5. Mrs. Nirmala buy sarees/Dresses on her own expenses on festive seasons.

6. Food will be prepared for children and old age people combinedly.

7. School and premises are owned by Mrs. Nirmala

8. Old age home is a rented double stored block with a monthly rent of Rs.9000

Re: Share and Care Project - Sivananda Rehabilitation Center

 - Hi Friends,

As per the Schedule we have visited Sivananda Rehabiliation Center on Saturday Evening (5-7.30PM). Generally we always get fun and joy with Children Unit. But this time it is from other corner i.e.Old age Home.

All the children were eagerly watching movie in DD Channel at the time of our arrival. They will only get this chance on Saturday and Sunday so we didn't intended to disturb them. But we have few minutes there. Children showed their drawings very enthusiastically. They are fully talented in Drawing. We wondered after watching their pictures. Then we moved to Old age home unit.

Here we have lots of chats with all over the home after distribution of Fruits and Biscuit packets. Every Participant of AMMA has sung song to entertain them, which was the inspiring factor. From many of us reduced their fear up to some extent by open up their self.

Then we moved to children ward again, but unfortunately they were on eating mood…..We distributed Biscuit Packets and bananas and retuned.

After one year gap our old active member Ch.Sireesha attended along with her husband.

Participants

  1. S.V.Adi Lakshmi
  2. V.Haritha
  3. D.Prabha
  4. Suneetha (Prabha Friend)

From: jagadish kasina Date: Fri, Dec 3, 2010 at 7:13 AM

Hi swamy,

Sorry for delay in reply.

I am very much aware that when I visited wisemen foundation she asked help to provide enough space to all people those who are residing at home.

I have already sent my opinion regarding this on my previous mail by saying that we can support her.

Right now we can give support to her, because as per my conversation with her while visited this home, I understood that she is looking for help from us.

Now you are saying can we support on monthly basis. Is she asked any other help apart from proving shelter?

If she asks help for maintenance, we can donate Rs. 2000 for 2 or 3 months, later based on her initiatives we will discuss whether to extend our support of not, this is my opinion only better to consult every member in this regard.

We can also support, if she asks help for construction. But it better to confirm one thing. Whether she is planning to renovate existing room on terrace or building a new home where she has place?

First of all let us know what her plans are. You just ask her regarding this in your next conversation with her.

Based on her views we can discuss at our meeting.

Thanks,
K. Veerabhadran.

Hi All

Hope you all doing great.

On 18-10-2010 (Monday day) I have visited Wisemen foundation, Vizag. Mounika Garu, is the founder of this organization. Along with 5 active volunteers Mounika garu running this home smoothly. I have reached at around 10.00 AM to that home and distributed Apples, had discussed about the daily activities of the home.

Even though it is not an old age home maximum persons residing at the home are old people only, Around 20 old people and 2 children are staying in this home, apart from this every month Wisemen foundation provides ration to 30 persons, those who are financially weak.

Now, Wisemen foundation does not have enough space to provide shelter to all needy old people, Mounika garu asked help to renovate a room on balcony, which is not in use right now, due to congest at present room, she is also thinking to shift this home to some other place, actually she has her own premises at Vizag city outskates. So she plans to construct a house for running this home.

After discussing about their activities, other things I returned at 11.30 AM.

I think at least if we give financial support for renovating room, it will be useful for them.

Thanks
K.Veerabhadran
