📢👨‍👦‍👦🍛 Corona Relief - Humanitarian Kit Distributions to 39 families at Shad Nagar in October 2020

Mr. Sreenivas and Haritha collected all the necessary details and verified their need personally and also organized the entire event. Many of their children also studying in the nearest Govt. School at Ram Nagar where Haritha is teaching for 2 years. So we are well aware of their financial status too. We have also distributed Humanitarian Kit to the same families 6 months back i.e. in April 2020.

👉 22.10.2020 - 19 families 👨‍👦‍👦

In which 10 families don't have proper housing (residing in huts with plastic sheets) and 9 families have houses. But both are from the same community and all of them don't have daily earnings from their rings business near temples, junctions, etc., So they badly need livelihood or support for living.

So we supported them with the following items which may be useful for 15 days:

➡️ 10kgs Ration Rice and 700/- Groceries Kit consists of 11 items including Oil, Dal, Salt, Ata, Chilly Powder, Sugar, Tea Powder, Tamarind, Soaps, Biscuits, etc.,

🙏 Firstly our sincere thanks to the donors who extended their financial as well as in-kind (donation of Ration Rice) Support.

🤝 Secondly *thanks to Sandeep, Sampath of Lakshmi Narasimha Provision Stores, Shadnagar* who helped us with all these packings, etc.,

✍️📑 *Education:* - We are not just distributing. It's much more and to establish a deeper connection and try to educate where ever possible.

So while collecting details for help, we identified a woman named Kavitha, as a potential helper to start a few educational activities. While distributing we requested her the same, she and the entire community responded in a very positive way. So with the help of her yesterday 26.10.2020, *we started our initial step of distributing a few drawing sheets, notebooks, pencils, and literacy material to engage the children.* We are very happy to see their response yesterday night. As requested by us they sent a video. How long it goes is a different issue, but our trails are important. Luckily there are few children who are very active in school. So we feel we can take it furthermore. After a week, we will review and thought of giving a few storybooks.

➡️ *26.10.2020: Kit to 20 more families👨‍👦‍👦*

We have distributed the same kit to 20 more families who are doing daily wages and don't have proper work and earnings. This time local person sponsored a Coconut Oil bottle, Paste along with above said 12 items.

Report By Dr, Sundar - 4th December, 2014

I can't believe such primitive villages exist so near to us even today. Today i went to the village bonduvalasa where we have distributed provisions as a part of hudhud relief along with marika and pata marika villages. Mr Venkata rao working in center for sustainable agriculture has guided us in identifying the most needy people affected by hudhud. Now when he asked us to help this village for drinking water i went to the village to know about the problem. This village is about 60km from vizag. There is no electricity In this village(not because of hudhud this village doesn't have electricity at all). There is only one hand pump for water for all purposes. This hand pump is having a problem. Water is not clear. Rice cooked with this water is turning yellow. And so many of them became ill. Mechanic came and removed the pipes and three of them are having holes. They have closed the holes with rubber tubes but mechanic advised to replace them with new ones. but as they have no money they are unable to purchase the pipes. So it will be helpful if we can purchase new pipes and they will not cost very much. This village bonduvalasa has 14 families who have migrated from the hill to a lower place near another tribal village as their children were dying due to various diseases. This village is in between vizianagaram and visakhapatnam. Previously they belonged to visakhapatnam village now they are in vizianagaram village. They have no voter id so no politician is concerned about them. They have no electricity. No water. They are leading primitive lives. Only source of water which is a hand pump belonging to another village is having problem. This is a genuine case where we can help them in many ways

1. Repairing the hand pump
2. Providing 500/- per family to purchase solar lamp rest of the 500rs govt will give as subsidy. And they can have some light.
3. They are complaining about diseases and i have assured them about medical help. I also want to give them a set of grihavaidyam charts so that they will Paste them on their houses and refer them to treat small diseases
4. They have many use full herbs growing in those hills. I have assured them that i will buy and make my friends buy if they collect those herbs properly.
5. Most important thing is to help them get voter id and ration cards so that govt will start taking care of them.
6. Help them get electricity
Only one pump for entire village which is one km away from where they live
