Hi Srinivas Garu:

This is further to my telecom with you last week with regard to Mr Srinu, a B Tech student.

I tried for him 2/3 times in between but could not get him on the mobile due to connectivity problems. I got him yesterday and talked to him at length. He told me that his parents migrated to Mumbai for their livelihood. He is not in touch with them for many past years as he was staying in hostels away from them for his studies. He also told me that his brother who is pursuing his studies in his home town informed Mr Srinu that their parents are coming to their native place for Dussera holidays. However, he is not going to his place to meet them.
He is presently staying with his friend in Uppuguda and is finding it difficult to commute.

When I contacted AVG students I was told that he was not considered for admission on the ground that a) his parents are alive; b) he has financial resources to pursue his studies.

I wanted to meet him personally and therefore told him to meet me on 14th. Meanwhile, if anybody from Mahboobnagar surrounding areas can find out about his financial status and family back ground and give us a green signal; I will support him for his stay and food.

I have a place to keep few male students in RK Puram near Kothapet and close to AVG. Prasanthi madam has seen the place and can tell us her opinion about the location.

I visited the SC/ST hostel in P and T Colony today morning. I could not contact the manager there but got his contact details:
Vijay - 8985739524.

I also met the students who are already staying there and told them the situation. They said, the candidate can directly come there along with his luggage and join along with the other students from same community/area. They are asking about the area where the student is from and based on which they can direct him to which building he can get in to (it is a cluster of 4 to 5 buildings).

So, he can take that risk and come along with his luggage. Unfortunately, I may not be able to help him till 24 Oct since I am leaving to Kanpur today for about 10 days.  Thank you.

Destitute (Ravi Kumar) taken for Treatment

Hi
Sri Jyothi garu, IDPL, Chinthal, who read about in News Paper, called us regarding a Destitute who is at the Bus Stop with Leg Injury. They are feeding him daily with Food packets but as a lady she is unable to go in depth to collect details. So on 19th May, 2014 Mr. Naveen Kumar & Naresh Kumar visited the person to assess the situation.

Based on the conversation they found that he used to work as Watchmen in IDPL and has some circle of friends. He is full of self esteem/confidence/Ego what we can call is in our hands. His native is near Amalapuram and family is also staying there. He said he is OK and he wont come to any where. He also said previously he stayed in a home for few days and returned due to disputes with other inmates. Our volunteers advised him to come with us for treatment and then we can join in a old age home. He said another NGO from Sanga Reddy promised him to take to home in couple of days. So our volunteers returned by advising the Jyothi gari relatives to contact us if he is still there after weekdays.
On 27th May, 14 our Volunteer Vikram taken him to Govt Ayurvedic Hospital, ESI from IDPL. We admitted him as in patient (I.P). Sravan and Haritha went there to support him. When the Volunteers came out he used to create disturbance in the ward. Even he used rash words with volunteers. He is unable to Walk also so doctors advised to take him out if our volunteers unable to stay there as attender.  We requested them to give permission to stay there till 5PM.

Then we talked to Sankar Garu of Amma Nanna Anadha Saranalayam, Choutuppal and taken permission to join him. But Ravi Kumar is refused to join in the home. We tried hard to convince him. He asked some days to decide. So we decided to taken them back to his place and do regular dressing for his wounds.
After 15 days we gain wants to discuss reg joining him in a home. Meanwhile we also decided to send a letter to the address given by him to know the realities. He is saying many things and we are unable to judge whether those are correct or not. He said he don't have the phone nos of his family. Based on the different conditions prevailing outside we want to wait for the reply at least for couple of weeks then take a decision.

Thanks to Vikram, Sravan & Haritha for their patience in doing this. Vikram will visit and do the dressing once he returned from his native place. Meanwhile we have given Tabs and dressing material, as he is able to do dressing on his own. We will get back to you with the current status in few days.

Whether we are able to succeed or not, we tried. That is the spirit of ASWA volunteers. We always ready to do what we can.

Service to Mankind is Service to God. Kudos to Volunteers.
