On 24th March,13,(Sunday) we successfully completed our Food Distribution program and we distributed total 17 packets to the needy people.

Success of Career Guidance Sessions in the Year 2012-2013

Hi Friends

It's been a Great Year for us in terms our Education Projects. We have gone further in reaching many students in Govt. Schools through Inter School & Intra School Essay Writing, Elocution and Quiz competitions, Common Ability Test (CAT) and Career Guidance Sessions.

Previously (2011-2012) we conducted Personality, Goal Setting & Career Guidance Sessions in a very few schools with the help of our main Resource Persons Mr. Prabhakar Sir. It's our fortune to have his company & valuable time even in his busy schedule as a Active Coordinator of Lead India, Social Activist and a Sr. Director in Reputed Company.

This year (2012-2013) our Volunteers started to take up the challenge of conduct the session on their own based on the learning's of Sir sessions and from other resources. Our Special appreciations to Sai Kumar, Naga Babu, Bhargavi, Venkatesh & Srinivasa Prasad Rao for their initiation in taking this valuable & useful info to many students of Govt. Schools in the different parts of Andhra Pradesh by delivering the sessions. Our appreciations to all the Volunteers who participated in the event. Nearly 1000 Students from 17 Schools benefited from this session.

Their feedback indeed inspires us towards more such sessions. Within 60 to 90 Minutes of available time we are able to attract & motivate as many students. The most important thing in the session is that the content is delivered in such a way which is easily understood to the students of their age with very funny examples.

Session Content includes:

• What is Personality & Importance of becoming Good/Great Personality ?
• What is Goal, Importance of Setting a Goal in Life, How to achieve it?
• What is the Importance of 10th Class ?
• What is the value of time of Students?
• Different Career Options available after 10th Class (Jobs, Entrance Exams, Different Courses, Distance Education, Self Employment, Financial Assistance for Education Help etc.,)
• Distribution of Career Charts (which is prepared by spending our Volunteers lots valuable time, thanks to all who is the reason for this chart)

We are planning to consider feedback received and starting these sessions much earlier i.e. immediately after Quarterly or Half yearly exams, so that we can reach more schools. Your every suggestion is most important. Feel free to send your views....

(Still few requests are there to conduct this session after 10th Class exams, but we are not sure whether students will turn up or not)

VIKAS PROJECT TEAM

An update on Career Guidance Sessions in Medak & Surrounding Villages on 16th March, 2013

Hi all

    

We successfully conducted "Goal Setting & Career Guidance Session" in the below Govt. Schools of Medak and surrounding villages. Mr. Bikshapathi worked hard to conduct these sessions without fail. He efforts in coordinating starting from explaining the importance of the session to School Management and taking permission and make all arrangements for a successful completion. His efforts are indeed inspiring. 

APRS for Girls, Near Stadium, Medak

• We started our trip with a session at this school.
• Session got delayed 30mins due to children's breakfast. So we started the session at 10.15AM.
• Around 130-140 students from 9^th & 10^th Class take part in this event along with the staff.
• Even Teaching Staff participated very interestingly by raising their doubts.
• Mr. Dileep and HM Ramanamma garu responded very positively before and after the session.
• They expressed their happiness and they requested us for any sessions/activities which is useful for the Students.

Z.P.High School @ Kuchanpally Village, Medak (Dt.)

• Due to delay in APRS school we started this Session at 12.30 PM and completed by 1.20 PM.
• Around 70- 80 students from 9^th & 10^th Class take part in this session along with couple of staff.
• This is the native village of Mr. Bikshapathi who arranged all these sessions.
• Students didn't interacted freely. We tried hard in different ways and slowly they start responding. So, in the given 45 minutes its became bit difficult to deliver the entire topic. So imparted the important information. As village student i can guess their problem.
• We found that there is a need to conduct many different activities/competitions in these schools in next academic year to motivate/guide/inspire students.

After having lunch and a small break we started to Ghanpur for our last session.

• We started the session at 4.05 PM and completed it by 5.30 PM.
• Around 70- 80 students from 10^th Class take part in this session along with teaching staff.
• Here Students are very disciplined and enthusiastic so as teachers. The response of the HM Sai Babu Garu is really amazing.
• Even the teaching staff noted down the points in the session, which shows their positive intent.
• They all felt very happy for the info they received from the session.
• They requested us to conduct this session in other nearest villages, but due to Pre final exams its become very difficult for us.

Feedback we received from Students and Teachers about these sessions is really very satisfactory which boost our energy levels towards more such activities. Bikshapathi & Sreenivasa Prasad Rao are the two volunteers participated in the above all session.

Help Required for Chandra Shekar, 10th Class Student

Hi Friends

We have received the below request from one of our Colleague. on 31st Jan, 13 Me & Uma Sankar visited their house and collected all required details alongwith verifying their financial status. Boy's Mother is a Maid Servant earning 3000 to 4000/- P.M Father left the family so she is their income source. Child is very interested in studies and has eagerness to continue his studies. They need to last 6 months school fee (6 * 500 = 3000/-) along with 1750/- for 10th class Books. He got above 80% in 9th Class. We still require few documents. After getting those we will go for Verification in School.

Mr. Naga Babu & Venkatesh visited the school and requested for concession in fee. But they refused give any such. So based on the verification report we decided to support the student.

On 26th March Mr. Naga babu again visited the school and paid the school fee of Rs.4,750/- through cheque.
